Since Sinhala is said to be most related to Bengali, I am curious to see their similarities (apart from the fact that they're both Indo-Aryan languages).
وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ خَلْقُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلَافُ أَلْسِنَتِكُمْ وَأَلْوَانِكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِلْعَالِمِينَ۝
"And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and your colors. Indeed in that are signs for those of knowledge." (Ar-Rum: 22)

It's not particularly closely related to Bengali as far as I know. It shares some features with Eastern Indo-Aryan (which includes Bengali) and others with Central Indo-Aryan (Hindi, Gujarati, etc.).
