OK, so first, the last Ghalib ghazal I know
"Phir Kuchh Is Dil Ko Beqarari Hai" as sung by Jagjit Singh:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xktsPX5OAp8
I've actually posted this song before, but I found a video for it now!
Which is amazing, because this is such an unknown movie. It's the song "Yehi To Hai Mere Khwabon Ka Jahan," composed by Salil Chowdhury. It has the same tune as a Malayalam movie song about Onam, the traditional Malayalee harvest festival, which is coming up pretty soon this year!
So it's actually pretty appropriate for the time of year in a way (and it has Shabana Azmi in it!
This is actually not a movie song but rather a test run in preparation for an episode of the Chinese version of The Amazing Race
taking place in Delhi! They recite the last two lines of what the contestants are supposed to say (they're supposed to recite lines in Hindi as if they were Bollywood actors
) and then perform a song and dance number (which I think this company that was responsible for arranging this just made up lol):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=altoM_wwv_4
And finally, all four songs from one of my favorite movies, Piya Ka Ghar (1972)
, in the order they appear in in the movie. For anybody who hasn't seen it, it's about a young lady from a village who marries a man who lives in Mumbai and lives with him but is disappointed with the reality of living there and has trouble adjusting to her new life:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekKboaSX8tE
