Starting to learn Italian :)

Postby Almachtigheid » 2013-02-09, 14:34

Hello!

I was really up to learning a new language, so I decided to make a list of languages I was interested in and randomly picked one, and so I picked Italian. Are there any native speakers that could help me (some human help is always fun, isn't it?) or is there anyone who knows good websites and/or free programmes to use?

My Italian is very basic now, ciao, arrivederci and italiano are the only words I know, and I don't even know if I spelled them correctly :)

So.... anyone? :D

I can recommend you using the website www.lesexpres.nl The first few lessons are free and it's very clear and nice :)
Native: Dutch
Learns: Latin and French
Knows also (a bit): English, German, Turkish, Danish

Corrections appreciated.

Don't worry, you spelled them correctly. :)

Here are some links:

http://blogs.transparent.com/italian/ (a nice blog about learning Italian)

http://www.dizionario.rai.it/ (an audio dictionary with traditional pronunciation)

http://www.liberliber.it/progetti/manuzio/ (Italian free books, audiobooks and music)

http://www.proverbi-italiani.com/ (Italian proverbs)

http://dizionari.corriere.it/dizionario ... ndex.shtml (free monolingual Italian online dictionary)

http://venus.unive.it/canipa/dokuwiki/d ... ?id=en:pdf (this is a bit technical but there is wonderful material about Italian phonology, all for free)

http://www.italienischkurs-online.de/ (Italian course in German)

http://italian.about.com/ (Italian resources in English)

http://leortola.wordpress.com/ (The blog of my favourite comic book author)

http://www.locuta.com/welcome.htm (other resources in English)

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Wiktionar ... talian1000 (Italian frequency list of words)

http://dizione.xoom.it/corsodizione.html (Italian neuter pronunciation course)

http://nl.wikibooks.org/wiki/Italiaans/Inhoudsopgave (wikibook for learning Italian in Dutch)

I hope they can be useful. Unfortunately some of those are addressed to a relatively advanced (or even native) target, but they can be useful to you anyway. If not now at least later.

I wish success for your study and don't be afraid to ask anything. :D
Fletto i muscoli e sono nel vuoto!
All corrections are welcome and appreciated.

Almachtigheid don't worry I understand how it may feel to learn this language, as Italian is quite a hard for most people, but the best way for you to approach learning Italian I think is taking classes and watch a lot of movies in Italian, of course putting subtitles at the beginning and keeping a good dictionary in your hands or a keep a good on-line dictionary open on your pc/tablet.
Good luck!
Salvo
