I'm starting this topic because the search engine has found nothing. In this thread you can post messages in IPA. Transcribe your speech any way you want, phonemically or phonetically. It doesn't matter whether it's broad, narrow or ultra-narrow transcription. If you want, you can post both phonemic and phonetic transcriptions. You can include the 'original' message as well, written in the latin alphabet. Edit: When posting an ultra-narrow transcription, it's really recommended that you post a broader one and/or latin alphabet version as well, so that users who can't read IPA fluently will still understand you.

It'd be also great if you wrote what accent you speak with. My accent is something approximating Modern RP, of course with some Polish influences.

I'll start:

Fairly narrow phonetic transcription:
[ɑɪm̥ stɑːtɪŋ ðɪs tʰɔpɪk bɪkəz̪ ðə səːtʃ ɛndʒɪn əz̥ fäʊmb̚ bɛɪsɪkli nɐθɪŋ. ɪn̪ n̪ɪs̪ θɹɛˑdʒ jə kəm̥ pʰəʊst mɛsɪdʒɪz ɪn ɑɪ pʰiˑ ɛɪ. tʂɹanskɹɑɪb jə spɪitʃ ɛni wɛɪ jə lɑɪk, fənɛmɪkli oː fənɛtˢɪkli. ɪt̚ dɐzm matˢə wɛðəɹ ɪts̬ bɹoːd, naɹəʊ oːɹ ʌ̞ɫtʂɹə naɹəʊ tʂɹanskɹɪpʃn. ɪf jə wɔnt, jə kəm pʰəʊsp̚ bəʊθ fənɛmɪk ʔand fənɛtˢɪk tʂɹanskɹɪʔpʃənz. jə kən ɪŋkʰlʉːd̟ ðiˑ 'ʔəɹɪdʒɪnɤ̞ɫ' mɛsɪdʒ əz wɛɫ, ɹɪʔn ɪn̪ n̪ə latˢɪn aɫfəbɛʔh. ɪtˢəb̚ biˑ oːɫsəʊ gɹɛɪtˢ ɪf jə ɹəʊtʷ wɔʔ aksən jə spiˑkʷ wɪθ. mɑɪ aksənt ɪz̥ sɐmθɪŋ əpʰɹɔʔksɪmətˢɪŋ mɔd̚n ɑˑ pʰɪi, əv̥ kʰoːz wɪθ sɐm̥ pʰəʊlɪʃ ɪnflu.ənsɪz.]

Note 1: Central /ə/ and /ɐ/ are back before [ɫ] - [ɤ̞] [ʌ̞]. /ɐ/ is also similarly retracted before /ŋ/, as in rung, perhaps not as much as before the dark l - [ɹɐ̠ŋ].
Note 2: [aɫfəbɛʔh] is not a typo, a short voiceless glottal fricative is very often pronounced after glottalized word-final /t/. It sounds different to the /h/ in hat due to the glottal stop in front of it, and because it's shorter in duration.
Note 3: [aksən] is ellision.

This is a good idea for a thread. I think I'll play.
My accent is something approximating American. I say 'something approximating' because I seem to have a number of features of unknown provenance that generally aren't listed as being American. I'm still trying to figure out what exactly I talk like, so my posts on here may undergo some amount of editing. I'll transcribe as narrowly as I can without using too many picky symbols.

Many of my aspirated /t/'s can be affricated instead, but it's so random that I decided I won't be using the superscript s anymore.

My accent is kind of hard to describe. It's some weird English/Australian hybrid. Moving around a lot as a child does strange things to how you talk :hmm:

I have obviously a foreign accent in English, but I'm not good in IPA either, so my transcription may not be accurate.
I have a weird hybrid of Italian and Chinese accent. Furthermore, I learnt both the British and the American variety.

I think Luciano Canepari is pretty much unknown outside of Italy.
