I love this year's Albanian Eurovision Song - Zemrën E Lamë Peng. It's such an incrediably powerful song!
Does it mean 'We Gambled Our Hearts' ?
Ledina Çelo was great too! I've only heard the English version from the contest, I didn't know she sang an Albanian version too!

Yep, it means that, there is a translation of the song too on the link I posted up there. And yea I love it too. The singer is only born 1991 so she's the youngest contestant and just one year older than me lol. I think I will vote for that song this year.

and yep, she sang it in albanian too, I think she sang it in Albanian in their qualifications but then she changed it to English in the contest. Luckily they won't change this year's song.

I couldn't believe how young she is either! I'm definitely voting for her this year too! :D
I've read a translation of the lyrics, but just love how the song sounds! I'll have to look up the Albanian version of 'Tomorrow I Go' and see what I think...

Yea :D actually this song was one of the things that made me really start to want to learn the language, I had been looking at it before a little and thought it looked and sounded cool but when I heard this song I decided that "I really have to learn this language!" :P :D

Well at least I thought the albanian version of that song was better than the english one :P

Hi Dan,

Since no one edited your version in the last 3 weeks, I posted it on our website.

Thanks

(:

I have actually got two friends who are native speakers from a site so hopefully that will help me a lot too.

I know there are some immigrants on my school who are from there too but I haven't ever spoken to any of them lol.

and I know there are some teachers for immigrants languages too where some immigrants go to study their native language and there is one for shqip but I have no idea where on the school they are and I doubt those teachers have any material that would be good for me since the ones who study the language there are native speakers so I doubt they use something in swedish or english.

it's easy to find the e-mail addresses of those teachers on the school website, but don't know if it's worth it to send him a mail. :? :?:

Oh ok :( I have no idea if that book is available in Sweden and I don't know if I really want to put out money to but it, don't know how much it costs either. Maybe I could check at my town's library, I know they have some language books, but doubt they have any for such a small language like this.
It would probably be easier to find at a library or bookshop in bigger cities, I only live in a small town, but I'm not living that close to any of the biggest cities of the country. Oh well, maybe I'll still check some day at the library here.

I would like to get these two songs translated if anyone would like to help me:

Engjëjt vrasin njëlloj-Besa

Nata e pa gjumë/
Brengat numëron/
Lotët, në një lum kujtimesh shkojnë/
Gjak i tradhëtuar ngjyrë ndërroi/

Lutjet s’i dëgjoj/
Duart mezi mbaj
Ky zhgënjim i hidhur, ty s’të fal/
Jo, nuk jam mizore pse dëshmoj/
Engjëjt të vrasin njëlloj/

Kur të marrë malli, më harro/
Sytë kur t’i mbyllësh, më shiko/
Hija e mëkatit, s’të frikëson/
Moho/

Shko se tjetër zemër të kërkon/
Le të jetë ajo, që sot vajton/
Ty as dashuria s’të ndryshon/
Prano/

Shekuj s’do të pres/
Endrrat do t’i zgjoj/
Ky dënim për shpirtin përfundoi/
Veshur në të zeza, më s’jetoj
Parajsa të dy s’na pranon/

Kur të mori malli, më harro/
Sytë kur t’i mbyllësh, më shiko/
Hija e mëkatit, s’të frikëson/
Moho/

Shko se tjetër zemër të kërkon/
Le të jetë ajo, që sot vajton/
Ty as dashuria s’të ndryshon/
Prano/

Po të mori malli, më trego/
Sytë mos i mbyll, e më shiko/
Netët e mëkatit, mëshiroj/
Pranoj/

and this one:

Fluturimi- Flori dhe Soni Malaj

Ladies and gentlemens,
the flight number 3470 arriving from London
has just landed in Tirana Airport.

Sa radh per mall,
tani flasim afer
ti s'me ke
si treshi me nente
ne akrepat e ores ne.

Sa e merzitshme fundjava qe e lash,
me e trishtuar
se ajo qe vjen pas,

3470 po vonon
dhe jeta ime
eshte ne avion.

Zemer ku je ti
me thuaj ku je tani,
vite te tera
ne shpirt pikove ti.

Zemer ku je ti
mbi asfalt shketetire,
as dashuria
s'te lidhi me zinxhire.

Sa radh per mall,
tani flasim afer ti s'me ke,
si treshi me nente
ne akrepat e ores ne.

Miliona fytyra i verej
ecin valixhet
kete aeroport urrej,
ti fluturime
nderkombetare sje
dhembje e imja
aq le ne kete atdhe.

Zemer ku je ti
me thuaj ku je tani,
vite te tera
ne shpirt pikove ti

zemer ku je ti
mbi asflat shkretetire,
as dashuria
s'te lidhi me zinzhire.

Leshohen shkallet shpresa ime derrmuar,
sa shpejt po zbrazet avioni i mallkuar.

dhe nje shpirt i lodhur ende te pret,
vetem kemba jote e bukur nuk zbret.

Zemer ku je ti
me thuaj ku je tani
vitet te tera
ne shpirt pikove ti.

Zemer ku je ti
mbi asfalt shkretetire
as dashuria
s'te lidhi me zinxhir.

Hmm the first text seem to have some parts missing I just noticed that when I listened to the song lol

A mundem vallë e vetme fundin ta shoh qartë
A do ti tradhetinë, une ta pranoj pa fjalë?
A mundesh vallë të zgjohesh larg nga trupi im?
Pse s’më mësove se qielli paska kufinj
Fundin jo, s’dua ta di
Mos më harro.

Do të marrë malli më beso
Rrugëve përlotur mos ndalo
Dashuria ime s’të mjaftoi
Prano
Ishe e gjithë bota më beso
Orët me te tjerë s’do t’jenë njëlloj
Ajo që ne deshëm përfundoi

Po të mori malli, mos trego
Sytë mos i fshij, e më shiko
Netët e mëkatit, mëshiroj
Pranoj

there we have the whole song I think lol

You can? When I go to that page, I only see firstly from Lesson 1 to 8 and under lesson 8 there is lesson 38 to 40. Where have you found the lessons 9 to 37? I can't find them anywhere.

I went to the town's library once one or two weeks ago on a friday when we had a long break in school to check where they have books in/about other languages but the only books I could find for this language were no learning books, there were only stories in Shqip and one or two dictionaries and I have no use for anything of that cause I wouldn't be able to understand a story book and I already know an online dictionary.
What exactly is assimil?
