I have to say, I'm not crazy about the Romance languages, with the exception of French. I've never been fond of the sound of Italian, Spanish, or Portuguese.

Also, I love the sound of Finnish. This I decided after I'd started learning it, and only cause me to become more attached to the language.

But overall, I'd say I like the Germanic languages, not that I speak any. (I suppose English could be considered Germanic. But I don't really like the sound of English.)

I do like English when spoken with a Scottish accent, though.

Wow, you plagerized several sections of my biography

there're tons of Spanish dialects.

Rioplatense Spanish, Caribbean Spanish, Mexican Spanish, European Spanish, Chilean Spanish, Andean Spanish... which one you don't like?

Aye, lad.

Anyway, how does Dutch sound even remotely (stereotypically) feminine?

Hoorns galmen in het Noorderland
De strijdlust is geboren
Trouw in ’t gevecht tot in de dood
Bij Balders dood gezworen
In naam Alvaders en onze stam
Trekken wij ten strijde
Te rijden naar de grote hal
Om Hels koud rijk te mijden

Slijpen onze speren
En smeden onze klingen
De barditus die zal weer eens
Walhalla bezingen
Waar mede vloeit en vrouwelijk schoon
Ons vlees brengt en ons drinken
Daar waar gelach en heldenlied
Voor eeuwig zullen klinken

'Strijdlust' ... not a girly-girl word at all.

Swedish sounds too gay, sorry.

And what about Norwegian? If Swedish is gay, then Norwegian must be gay in square, right?

No Norwegian doesn't sound gay. Only Swedish, maybe Jämtlandic, but not Elfdalian.

Jamtlandic sounds gay to you? Then listen to a sample of it here. I doubt you can find any more masculine Norse dialect. (Jamtlandic is infamous for typically being spoken with a bass, while other dialects - especially those just east of Stockholm - are infamous for being spoken in falsetto!) I don't say it's good or bad with a masculine or feminine sounding language, just that you can't accuse Jamtlandic to be sounding feminine, and that Swedish definitely sounds less feminine than ("Standard") Norwegian. (This, of course, is due to the extreme pitch of Norwegian except the southwestern and northern dialects related to Faroese and Icelandic.)

But the fact that some geniuses were laughed at does not imply that all who are laughed at are geniuses. They laughed at Columbus, they laughed at Fulton, they laughed at the Wright Brothers. But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown.

Siegel makes a good point - German in Rammstein sounds absolutely wicked, but an everyday german speaker does not use the same passion in his voice.

hanumizzle, es ist unüblich, in Foren und Chats die Höflichkeitsform zu verwenden und wenn du es absichtlich tust, könnte es sogar mir Arroganz verwechselt werden. ;)
