EXERCIȚIILE MELE:
-Fata și-a tăiat părul OK
-Mi-au plăcut savorile băuturilor OK
-Femeia a turnat făină într-un ibric din bucătărie
-Gențile unor femei au dispărut OK
-Pisoiul s-a împiedicat de săpunul din baie
-Vecinii unui bloc cu apartamente s-au adunat astă seară.
-Casa prietenului meu este foarte mare.
-Unele persoane sunt vagi, dar de asemenea, există alte persoane cărora le place să muncească.

Exercițiu is a neuter noun which means that
in singular it acts like a masculine noun and in plural like a feminine noun.

And when the possessive pronoun (my/your/his/etc) comes after the noun
then the noun must have an article.

this night = seara asta / astă seară / această seară / seara aceasta

the house of my friend = casa prietenului meu
the big house of my friend = casa mare a prietenului meu
a house of my friend = o casă a prietenului meu

That a refers to the possessed noun
and it appears when the possessed noun has an indefinite article ( a/an/some )
or when an adjective comes in between.
In this moment it's "a" because casa is feminine.
For singular masculine it's al
For plural masculine ai
For singular feminine a
For plural feminine ale

a quien le gusta = cui îi place
a quienes les gusta = cărora le place

jucăria câinelui al verișoara mea a disparut
jucăria câinelui verișoarei mea a disparut

I would say:

Jucaria cainelui verisoarei/verisorului meu a disparut.

or

A disparut jucaria caineluui verisoarei/verisorului mele/meu.

The toy of my cousin's dog has disappeared = Jucăria câinelui verișoarei mele a dispărut

Since verișoara is in the genitive case the pronoun mea turns into mele.

of my dog = câinelui meu
of my cat = pisicii mele ( mea )
of my dogs = câinilor mei
of my cats = pisicilor mele

As you can see only the feminine singular pronoun changes in genitive.

In the same way do the other singular feminine pronouns change: ( in dative and genitive )
mea -> mele
ta -> tale
sa -> sale
noastră -> noastre
...

Casa fiicei noastre
Jucăria pisicii mele
Florile grădinii sale
Capitala țarii voastre

Levente.Maier wrote:

Oricând. :)
Did you find it strange or weird that we attach the definite article to the end of the noun?

actually, I've studied a little bit of swedish before, and the definite and indefinite swedish articles behave as in romanian and bulgarian:

hund = câine
hunden = câinele
hundar = câini
hundarna = câinii

so, it wasn't that odd to me at first :) but I must confess that at first I thought the grammar would be similar as in spanish (a lot of the grammar rules work as in spanish, I'm talking about declensions :yep: )

I'm really impressed to know that a lot of people there in Romania can speak spanish that well !
You all are very smart
If you can speak german, then swedish, norwegian or danish would be a piece of cake for you :yep:

-Câinelui i-ar plăcea să prindă iepuri.

This is how the pronouns in dative change when they are connected to some words:

îmi -> mi-
îți -> ți-
își -> și- ( reflexive )
îi -> i-
ne -> ne-
vă -> v-
le -> le-
își -> și- ( reflexive )

mi-ar plăcea = I would like
ți- aduce = I would bring to you
ne-a dat = he/she gave us
etc.

Sadly we don't have present continuous so structures like
sunt auzind = I am hearing or am fost auzind = I was hearing do not exist.

to hear = a auzi
to listen = a asculta
to listen to music = a asculta muzică

mi-ar plăcea and not mi-ar place because the infinitive form is plăcea.
This is a mistake that we often make. :D
