I actually saw very few proper Disney movies. I mean, not Pixar, Marvel, etc. They weren't available for renting in VHS, or open (no cable) TV, etc. I had to wait for Netflix for watching Pocahontas, for example.

I try not to consume them too close together because I don't want my impressions of the film influencing my reading of the book or vice versa. They are distinct art forms and should be approached independently.

Yes I did, some French film "L'écume des jours". It was a huge bet, as the book is quite unrealistic (as all the books Boris Vian wrote) and I was curious to see how the movie would translate this special feeling. Well, I was bitterly disappointed - but as you said, it's unfilmable...

Yes, it's very unlike me but that's true - I'm reading about how women where treated in the 19th century, locked into psychiatric hospitals when they were accused of having hysteria or demencia. Kind of sad, revolting.... and frightening too But I wonder if women could be locked there for eating disorders?
