This is awkward because all of the other versions I can find of this song (with the same name by the same artist) appear to be a bit different from the one you linked to. :hmm:

I can't transcribe it (I can't even transcribe English sometimes), but I can still try to help find or figure out the lyrics. This version is kind of harder to figure out, though, not only because this is the only clip of this version I can see anywhere but also because it has a lot more background instrumental music, making it even harder to identify what they're singing.

I listened to other versions on youtube like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4cHK44ur60 and I can't tell the difference with the lyrics. But lyrics sites and some lyrics videos I found, like this https://www.musixmatch.com/lyrics/Marcu ... /Maktub-II all give the same lyrics and it doesn't match. In the beginning they all have ahaat ahaat and never have maktub , something we heard several times in the song.

Wouldn't be the case of the original being in some dialect and the version made for the series O Clone was rewritten in Levantine?

No, I figured out the reason for the discrepancy: The link in the OP is to a version of this song without the intro part, which is what the lyrics that you can find online wrote out. That's why they're asking about the rest of the song.

No, it's just very badly pronounced Modern Standard Arabic.

I finally figured out at least some parts of the lyrics thanks to the Portuguese translation. It begins as follows (ignoring the āhāy at the beginning):

،هلا، مكتوب
Hallā, maktūb,
'Oh, written,'

!مكتوب
Maktūb!
'Written!'

كان مكتوبا
Kāna maktūban
'It was written'

في الفضاء والزمان
Fī'l-faḍāʾ w-az-zamãn
'In space and time'

.إن روحي وروحك يكونان نوران
'Inna rūḥī wa rūḥak yakūnāni nūrān.
'That my soul and your soul are two lights.'

كان مكتوبا

I can't make out anything in the verses after that except maybe (in this order, right to left) حوري, عيش, والله, (?)أغني, and:

كان مكتوبا
Kāna maktūban
'It was written'

قبل الزمان
Qabl az-zamāni
'Before time'

Thanks! I wish there were transliterations for all the songs of that TV series ("O Clone").
