Seriously though, I'm curious. Why the sudden interest in reviving both these two study groups? I can't help but ask.

Okay, so I'm back...and I feel like I've forgotten everything. I've started listening to the audio for Chapter 2. I had to listen to Dialogue 2 a few times in order to catch everything they were saying, but at least I understood it all. Dialogue 3 is harder, though.

Now I'm struggling to remember the vocabulary at the end of Chapter 2. רחוב, רכבת, and חנות all have cognates in Arabic I'm not familiar with, and משרד comes from a root having to do with living but that I'm not aware of an Arabic cognate for.

In the next chapter, the first unfamiliar word I see is כבר. I wonder whether that might be related to كبير in Arabic since כבר also means both 'already' and 'to be many' in Aramaic.

About "mefakhed" - people also use "pokhed", and it's very common that people don't actually know the difference between the two (...including me...)."Mefakhed" feels a bit more natural somehow, but I don't know why.

"Taku'a" is correct, just make sure the vowel is a "u"

I've decided to get back into this group again now instead of waiting around for someone to participate in the Biblical Hebrew group first. I'm trying to review the vocabulary from Colloquial Hebrew and thought I'd try checking my answers to some of the exercises more carefully than I did before. These are my revisions to my answers for Unit 3, Exercises 1 and 2:

So nothing actually wrong, basically just staying consistent with spelling. For some reason, I ended up accidentally writing לחשֺוב as *לחשֺ וב or something. Also for God knows what reason, they include the dagesh (i.e. the dot, inside bet in this case - they write בּ instead of just ב) in בּחדר but not in any other instance of that preposition (cf. במשׂרד, בקיבּוּץ, etc.). I'm guessing that's just a typo on their part?

Anyway, I reviewed conjugating verbs and listened to the dialogues I mentioned in the previous post until I'd (hopefully) internalized the new vocabulary from them. Then I reviewed my answers to exercises 4-5:

I surely will be posting this month, because I am on holiday and I will have more time. But I don’t follow any exercise book. In fact, I don’t know where I am anymore. I’ve been taking lessons this year, but so far I can only make basic sentences. My vocabulary is mixed with a lot of Arabic

I think that I should increase my vocabulary and also study better the verbs and conjugations. As for videos, it’s still difficult for me to understand them completely.
