I thought so too.

I wonder if there is something similar in German. (Doesn't have to be about Korean. :P )

I figured as much. I don't know all that many YouTube videos yet, at least not of the kind you're looking for. Sorry. :P

After a bit of a break, I'm baaaaaaaaaack everyone! :P

What linguistic exploits do I have to share from when last we spoke?

Sadly, not much.

I'm still going through German (using Begegnungen A1+), and have been reviewing my Japanese (Minna no Nihongo). I also didn't want to completely forsake my studies of Irish and Polish, so I'm doing bite sized stuff with them until I can devote more time and energy to them.

My main focus at the moment is German and Japanese, and I intend to get that going pretty well over the summer (as best as I can, more below). About 6 months or so in, I want to check my progress and them and see if it is viable to switch to/include Korean and/or Mandarin Chinese into the mix.

For fun languages there is Irish and Polish (for now, until I make them serious languages eventually), and Vijay and dEhiN have convinced me to get into some Dravidian languages. So I've been looking at Malayalam and Tamil, naturally.

Career-wise, I have signed up for a CELTA course over the summer, so I hope within the next year or two to go overseas and teach English! (Currently I'm looking at Taiwan, Korea and Japan as potential locations to do this, but that might change, who knows!).

More updates to follow!

I don't think we needed to do much convincing.

EDIT: Don't forget about Koine Greek, Biblical Hebrew, and French!

Ok, let's get back into some weekly updates! Those where working very well for a good while, no reason they shouldn't do so now!

After concidering my near future (CELTA and everything, and places I'd like to work after obtaining it), I have reoranged a few things. (No, I'm not dropping shit, but reprioritizing. :P )

"Week" 6/14/2019 - 6/16/2019
Priority Languages:

Japanese: Review Lessons 2-5 in「みんなの日本語」by 3A.

Classical Greek: Complete Units 1-3 in Introduction to Attic Greek, Second Edition by Mastronarde. (Those who know my history with Greek might be like "why is he learning Classical and not Koine Greek? Well, I figure Classical Greek is a good base to work off of, plus on of the universities I've talked to about potential PhD studies said their placement test involved both Classical and Koine Greek. Plus, going from Classical to Koine is easier than the other way around.)

Everything Else:
German: Continue to review vocabulary from Begegnungen A1+ by Busha and Szita

Hebrew: Review vocabulary from Introduction to Biblical Hebrew by Lambdin.

Irish: Review vocabulary from Teach Yourself Irish by Dillon & Ó Croínín, review Present and Past tense verb conjugations.

Polish: Review vocabulary from First-Year Polish by Swan and associated workbooks.

Taiwanese: Review vocabulary from Taiwanese Book 1 by Maryknoll.

Malayalam/Tamil
: Learn a few letters of the Malayalam alphabet.

[The "Everything Else" section will consist of reviewing vocabulary and dialogues and other review activities in the background, but will not be the main focus during the week. I plan to rotate the language I am doing more than just a vocabulary review on each week. We'll see how it goes. Either way it's intended to keep these languages alive, but not burdensome to the priority languages. Most are on very small Anki reviews. (2 new cards a day) For the sake of listing very thing out since a few changes have occured, I'm putting them all in this update. In future updates I'll just be listing the language that I am working on more than just Anki for the week.]

Are you planning on posting anything about any of these this week? Should we tempt fate and attempt an Ancient Greek study group? :P

Yeah, I was going to post some stuff for Greek at least. Since Japanese is mostly review at this point I was thinking of waiting until I (or I guess 'we' :P ) got to some new material.

Sure. We can do a study group for Greek.

At this point at least, I don't think I'll be posting for any of my other languages.

So you're just thinking of posting for Greek and Japanese? Not Taiwanese? (Or Mandarin? Or whatever).

I don't think I am fate, but it's tempting indeed. :P

Are there PDFs for the book you're using?

I'd like to give it a try at least. There's hope that refreshing my Greek would be less time consuming than learning Hebrew (where even typing the answers took a lot more time than answering the question in the first place...), so maybe it won't fail as badly.

I think księżycowy feels similarly. :P I totally forgot somehow that you were interested in Ancient Greek, though.
