If you are more comfortable communicating here in German, I have no objections. I will likely continue to use English by default for now, until I have completed more vocabulary and grammar review so that I don't have to spend 30 minutes double-checking everything.

Oh whoops, I didn't look at how they translate Mücke in this book. In southern Germany and Austria, it just means 'fly'. :P Elsewhere in Germany, it's usually understood to mean a bloodsucking mosquito.

Als Kompromiss bin ich für "solltet ihr" (Konjunktiv und informelle Anrede).

19. Mrs. Meier kills the wicked (adj.) gnats. [Where as I'm not 100% sure which is the subject and which is the object, it makes a hell of a lot more sense for a person to kill a gnat than the opposite. :P ]

Look at the verb ending. Tötet is 3rd person singular. Mücken is the plural of Mücke, so if it was the subject, the verb would have to be töten.

Do they count andere as an adjective and rückwärts as an adverb?

I didn't see the vocabulary work for chapter 4 after the page break earlier. I went ahead and did them for the practice:

I think you meant to write "dative". Genitive plural would be der Herren (as you explain wrt Historiker, below).

Yes, I did mean dative. Thanks.

OK, I've been seeing various posts by various people about these study groups, as well as the same few people continuing to create more and more study groups or asking if people want to a study group for X. It seems no one is really accomplishing anything and all seems like a joke to everyone. While I have been having an "off" feeling about these groups all along, I had hoped something constructive and helpful would evolve from them, but I have to admit my personal morale regarding participating in them it pretty much obliterated at this point. There's a certain kind of chaos to the whole thing that I am finding more and more unhealthy, and I think it's better for my own sake to step away from them entirely, because I don't see them as being helpful for me in achieving my own goals or helping me stay motivated.

So this will be my last post here (or in any other study group). Good luck, everyone, with whatever you hope to accomplish.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but at least for my part I don't think this (or any other study group) is a joke at all. Granted on occasion I have joked about it a few times, but over all I am quite serious about this, and several of the other groups I'm in.

Having said that, you are most certainly free to step back, if that's what you feel is best for you. Just know that you can come back at any time, if you want too. :)
