Hell, Czech is pretty bitchin' too! And I'll take Germanic any day of the week. Especially when compared to Blomance languages.

As long as access to dictionaries and grammar resources isn't restricted, I should be able to produce broken some Irishy Gaelic or Manx (Gaelic would obviously be easier for me than Manx, but this is FUBAR after all). The larger problem might be finding someone who translates out of them again. ;)

Or if you don't mind Germanic, Icelandic could be fun. More people might be able to continue the chain from there.

Oh sorry, I meant to say Manx and Scottish. I keep forgetting that Gaelic on its own generally refers to Irish Gaelic. Or was I correct in saying Gaelic to mean Scottish? I'm so confused now... :hmm:

Gaelic is a confusing term that doesn't seem to mean anything all by itself (presumably it refers to either Irish or Scottish Gaelic, but it's not always clear which, like in this case!), and I generally avoid that term at least in the context of Irish because IME Irish people don't use it and are baffled by it.

Sorry, maybe I should have been more specific, but since you were already using "Gaelic" without further specification, I just did the same and assumed it wouldn't cause confusion. I can see how my "Irishy" would add to the confusing, though. What I meant is Scottish Gaelic and Manx, which would probably both end up being influenced by my Irish.

Anyway, yes, just "Gaelic" generally means Scottish by default.

Do native speakers of Scottish Gaelic call their own language just "Gaelic" in English? (I ask since Irish people don't seem to do this).

IME, yes. See for instance: https://gaelic.co/top-10-gaelic-diffs-part-1/.

You can host this one and I will host the next one. I would like to participate actually. :)

Also, is there a rule that the host can't participate in a FUBAR game?
