Dialects are a lot easier than MSA It is hard to learn multiple dialects, but knowing one really makes learning other closely related dialects a lot easier.
I always learned Lebanese since that's what my friends spoke and I liked it best, but as I started making Khaleeji and Iraqi friends, I started to learn about the key defining features of those dialects too. All this was happening while I was also listening to a lot of Egyptian music and learning about Egyptian words and grammar too. I bought some books for Egyptian and Iraqi, which were very helpful.
