+ Estonian, Võro. Just as Varislintu noted above for Finnish, the Estonian expression "eest" (and "iist" in Võro) is simply a postposition meaning "for." It's etymological meaning of "from in front of" is not consciously noticed, similar to "edestä" in Finnish. It is just the standard way (or, one of the standard ways) to say "for".
Suomi: Minulla on kova nälkä, koska syön kahden edestä. ("two in front"/"for two")
Eesti keel: Ma olen väga näljane, sest söön kahe eest. ("for two")
Võro kiil: Ma olõ väega nälläne, selle et ma süü katõ iist. ("for two")
