mod

Other mods and/or admins may edit the list if deemed necessary.

This is the resource list for the Australian, Austronesian and Papuan languages. Most of these resources are English, but you're more than welcome to add resources in other languages as well.

From księżycowy:
[Please note, some of these texts are OOP at the moment, but IAD occasionally reprints titles, so please keep checking back with them. You can also sometimes find them used for a decent price. I'm also using the US Amazon site (cause that is where I live :P ), but you can probably find them in other regions through Amazon too (for example: Amazon Australia). I should also point out, this is not an exhaustive list of the materials available for any of these languages, it's limited to things I personally have.]

I can't directly edit it, but I'd be happy to share resources I have and where to find them for Australian Aboriginal languages none-the-less. :D

For right now, I'm just going to suggest:

http://malagasyword.org/bins/homePage?w= for Malagasy (it's a dictionary),
Everyday Balinese for Balinese,
Basic Tagalog for Tagalog (not a book I particularly recommend, tbh), and of course,
http://www.seasite.niu.edu/Tagalog/ also for Tagalog.

Who's the author of Basic Tagolog?
And what would you recommend?

Also, back to Australian Aboriginal languages, there is this one link that has some goodies for more than one language:

I meant book wise. As I've said elsewhere, I stare at a screen enough per day, so I prefer my language materials be in physical format. :P

Have you (or anyone else for that matter) seen the two books by Barrios (Tagalog for Beginners and Intermediate Tagolog)? Are they any good?

But yet, SEAsite is awesome.

I wish I knew of some good books, but I don't yet.

I'm going to just dump everything I've found for Oirata so far here (minus a few now-dead links):

The archived version of the beginning of the creation myth (with an English translation)
An archived recording of someone reading it (apparently, the text was recorded orally and then transcribed, but this is a recording of someone (a native speaker?) who learned to read Oirata reading the transcribed version aloud. It's kind of weird)
A paper on sound correspondences between Oirata and some of its Papuan neighbors, with some claims/ideas about what Oirata's relatives are
A short vocabulary list
An Oirata-Indonesian dictionary on academia.edu
A paper actually about an Austronesian language called Leti spoken nearby, but with some comparisons to Oirata
A paper with examples from various languages, including Oirata on pages 46-48
Another paper attempting to relate some of the Papuan languages, including Oirata, to each other
A paper on the pronominal systems of some Indonesian languages including Oirata

Also adding this paper on Tambora, courtesy of Wakarahen, and this Fataluku-Portuguese dictionary, both also on the Papuan Languages Thread
