circulation (ringlus) for
traffic (liiklus). And we say
bottling (villimine) for
traffic jam (liiklusummik). But anyway, I don't think
villimine translates as
traffic jam in any context.
Well, there have been several semantic leaps in this thread lately. We went from
kirst to
süda although they have no semantic connection in Estonian either - just that both can be associated with the English word "chest" in its two different meanings. (
Kirst is a chest for storing items, like a treasure chest or dowry chest;
süda is that muscle in your body's chest that pumps blood... but in Estonian that type of chest is
rind not
kirst.)
But it is a "word association" game after all.... I suppose anything that pops into someone's head is fair game! Though it would be better to say this one as
villiminebottling
and then I would continue the word association game with
punaveinred wine
