klar wirkt das is ja auch ein Narkosemittel
Kann man sich auch in der Kneipe um die Ecke vollaufen lassen hilft auch ( kurzfristig ) gegen Depressionen....

Of course it works, it's an anaesthetic.
You might just as well get plastered at the pub around the corner, that also helps against depressions (for a short time).

The sentences aren't particularly well-written...
Please correct my mistakes!

Is "Depressionen" as unidiomatic in German as "depressions" is in English?

In German you can hear the word "Depressionen" quite often but it seems to be a recent trend, perhaps it would have sounded unidiomatic a couple of years ago. I've just looked it up on NGram viewer...

In which way isn't this well written? It's just a usual colloquial way of talking as every German does it.
