The Lyrics:

Abdallah Salm - 3ala Tari

This is a good example of an almost (but not fully) authentic Kuwaiti Khaleeji accent. Notice the "ch".

Extremely famous Iraqi song, using four of the main languages of Iraq - Iraqi Arabic, Assyrian Neo-Aramaic, Kurdish, and Iraqi Turkmen. Armenian and Mandean are missing (maybe more), but still a great party song!

What dialect does Myriam Fares sing in? I like what I hear (and see).

Depends on the song. She's Lebanese but has a lot of songs in the Egyptian dialect, too.

نفسي أقولهالك is in Egyptian Arabic. أمان is in classical Arabic; the lyrics are from a very famous Andalusian poem.

Myriam started her career singing in Lebanese (Nadini etc) and Egyptian (Ana msh ananeya, Wa7eshni Eih, Eih Elly Bye7sal etc), and then she had a lot of success with a Khaleeji song called "Moukana Wein".

After that, she made a few songs in a few different dialects, including Moroccan (Tla7) and Iraqi (Erta7).

Then, she went full Khaleeji/Saudi for a while with her album and other singles (I can't remember what the actual album is called) and had some very big hits like Khallani, Min 3youni, Ana Gheir, El Gesayad etc, and she also had that song for her wedding in Khaleeji called...I can't remember the name actually :rotfl:

She actually earned a name for herself as being able to sing the Khaleeji dialect pretty well. She's probably one of the best Lebanese singers in Khaleeji, along with Yara.

Lately she's been making music in a mix of dialects again, including Lebanese (Shu B7eb, Kifak) and Egyptian (Nefsi a2oullhalak etc).

Her Khaleeji music was big but it kinda annoyed some people with how excessive it was so I think she's trying to make a mix again.

Seems like an odd choice from a commercial perspective. Maybe I underestimated the peninsula's taste for pop music.

Are there any Arabic songs similar to نفسي أقولهالك? It is by far my favorite Arabic song.

Actually the Khaleej is pretty big on pop music, and not just from their own Khaleeji artists. For a while all the Lebanese singers were making Khlaeeji music, and many even made Khaleeji albums (Yara, Diana Haddad, Myriam, Nawal el Zoghbe was supposedly making one that never happened). Actually as far as I can think, all the main female Lebanese singers have made Khaleeji music except Najwa Karam and Pascale Machaalane. Non-Lebanese singers like Angham, Latifa, Samira Said and others have also made Khaleeji music recently. A few years ago it was the biggest thing to do!

It's mostly because of how rich the Gulf is. They want to target the richest market :rotfl:

Probably, most of the music sounds similar :rotfl: Haven't listened to any of that stuff for a while so if I get the chance I'll have a look for you!

I've listened to a fair amount of Arabic music but this is the first time I've heard such an appealing mix of pop and EDM. I suppose I should just post it here:

Can someone help me find a song? I heard it yesterday on Iranian TV. The song was in Arabic and I have no idea what they sung. It could have something to do with arbaeen because it was aired in conjunction with that.
The song was a duet. A little girl who was maybe 5-8 years old and a man who was maybe 30 years old. It was really nice. Beautiful melody. Not pop. Thanks in advance!

For Saim, voron, Vijay, and others particularly interested in Levantine Arabic:

The first two rappers are Jordanian, followed by a Yemeni and then the last two are Egyptian, but having the lyrics makes it easy to follow most everything, even the Yemeni part!

Very cool, thanks eskandar!

It's my recent obsession to create subtitles for everything so I'm gonna subtitle this one too.

(As I wrote on my TAC I had subtitled a few Langmedia videos but it turned out I cannot share them publicly on youtube because of copyright restrictions.)

Here is an example of my subtitled Feyrouz song (the video showing beautiful images of Syria):
https://youtu.be/wCXCfQOQ7Pw

I suppose it may be copyright violation too so I wouldn't be able to share them here. :doggy:
