Now I will translate the plot of one of my favourite TV shows in childhood.

He says it here at 4:01.
Levike wrote:Kivéve a ???-eseket, mert azokat ezerféleképpen lehetett volna kiegészíteni.
Except the ones with the ???, since there were thousands of ways to fill in the void.

Thinking back to the original, I'm not sure why there's no [i]engem in this sentence.

Baš sam mislio da je vezano s tom određenom/neodređenom konjugacijom. Međutim, upravo sam obrnuto očekivao, odnosno "szereti" jer se tu pretpostavlja neki objekat (to jest. "mene" u ovom slučaju, zar nije to određeni objekat?). Al' sad kad malo više razmišljam, ima smisla. Hvala.

Eh, znam to očekivanje, ja sam imala identičnu situaciju kad sam krenula s mađarskim. Ali prebacujem objašnjenje na engleski tako da, ako kojim slučajem fulam, da me se može ispraviti
Ha, true - that was exactly the thing I thought when I started learning Hungarian. But their logic is, and my teacher (who was Hungarian) also said that to her it makes no sense to her, that we are indefinite So, basically, if you talk about him/her/it/them, anything that has a/az/ez in front of it + names, countries stb., it'll be definite. If you're talking about me/you/us/you(2pl.) and stuff that are indefinite (marked with egy), or you use another verb without a definite object after the main, conjugated one (like in Levike's example of Szeretek főzni, because "I like to cook in general"), then it's the indefinite conjugation you have to use.
