I am opening a new thread about Sami culture in general. Most of the information or videos that I find are in Swedish, Norwegian or Russian. So I don’t know if this is the right place to post it. Feel free to comment about it.

First time I hear about “Jojk” or “Joik” (not sure about the correct spelling). It’s a traditional form of song in Sami music. The video is in Swedish with English subtitles.

It's joik in English (or sometimes yoik), joik in Norwegian, jojk in Swedish, in Northern Saami juoiggus or luohti.

Here's a documentary (in several languages with English subtitles) that seems appropriate for this thread. Despite the "yoik" in the title, it's actually about how logging and deforestation have impacted traditional Saami ways of life. There is some joiking in it too, though, like the one in the background that starts at about 5:20 - it's Ulla Pirttijärvi and the song (joik) is called Njuvččat bohtet ("The Swans Come").
