New flag for Gothic

Postby GothicSp » 2015-01-11, 22:46

Currently, for the Gothic language a blank flag with some Gothic letters is used. I 'm part of a Gothic revival movement and one of our members, which is also a member at this forum, Viridzen, has created a flag for the Gothic language which we want to present as a flag for official use. We provide this flag as a flag to be used to represent the Gothic language at Unilang. The flag is based on a the eagle, of which the Goths made a lot of artworks and the black background represents both an old language appearing again and it is related to older flags which also used a black color sometimes.

In it's resized form, it looks like this:

It looks like a hamsa, especially in the resized form.

How about this hamsa? :P As soon as you said hamsa, I thought 'swan', because that's what [ˈhəmsəm] means in Malayalam.

Maybe a little bit. If you do a Goofle search for Visigothic art, you will come across a lot of these birds. Anyway, do any site builders which can change the Gothic flag see this topic?

Our flag policy is to only use flags that are officially and widely recognised.

But our community has choosen this flag with the most votes. We don't even know how we can get recognized as an official organization, so how can we ever get it recognized then? The current Unilang flag for Gothic definitely isn't oficially recognizedor widely accepted, so this rule doesn't apply to all flags.

Well, frankly, isn't it up to you to figure out how to do that?

We're still "test-driving", if you will, the new flag, and we only got about 17 votes on the whole voting, so it's not officially closed. I think GothicSp and I are the only ones even who know which flags we're rolling with, but I could be wrong. (And, yes, we decided to go with the two most used. For now.) Since the vote isn't officially official yet, and since the flag is in no way widespread nor recogniseable, I'd say let's just wait.
Please, correct my errors. S'il vous plaît, corrigez mes erreurs.

I think it's good.
