I do, but it's not very noticeable.

Thanks for fixing it & changing the order of the edit and quote buttons! :)

lol Well, I'm glad it's not me somehow completely forgetting the placement of those buttons (I click them without looking out of habit). Twice, I had to spend 5-10 minutes restoring other people's posts because I am an admin and I can edit anybody's post. I wanted to quote instead. :P

Interestingly enough, now I'm the one clicking on the wrong buttons because I was so used to the old position

Yeah, same here. I guess I'm destined to push the wrong button no matter what. :P

I'm seeing it now, but I didn't at first.

Incidentally, I now clicked "edit" instead of "quote", but noticed it right away.
Please correct my mistakes!

That's what happens to me, too.

Maybe there's a way to put a large red notice above the edit window whenever you're editing someone else's post?

I dunno, I think I'm fine with the way it currently works...I figure it just takes a bit of getting used to.

But you could be right. :P

I don't see a colour difference in the edit button. I almost made the mistake of clicking edit because I was used to the old positions, but stopped myself. In the past, one way I could tell if I had clicked on edit by accident was lack of the quote tags in the body. Another way was under the Submit button, in the Options section, there was an extra option for "Lock post [prevent editing]", which was enough to alert me.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to have a warning come up, like with deleting a post. (As has been suggested.) But that's just my 1¢.

Yeah, with hindsight, I think this was a non solution. The two buttons are still close to one another. I still believe the best solution would have been to put the edit button on the bottom of each post (provided it's possible). I don't know why but my ideas were totally ignored.

That could certainly work too. (Provided it's technically possible, of course.)

I appreciate the input, but most of this is standard PhpBB behavior. Changing the order of the buttons (or even the icon) is relatively easy. Creating a custom warning screen is not.

It's not technically impossible, but it's not something I can get done quickly either.

Thanks for the explanation.
