The language code for Australian Kriol is rop and languages are sorted by their code. However, they're sorted alphabetically on the language list page. I don't know if there's a reason for that, I'll have to investigate.

EDIT: I also notice that the Seneca language website spells the Seneca language as: Onöndowa’ga:’ gawë:nö’. I'm sure it's just a dialectal difference (or tiny error in the dictionary), but whatever the case I'd still like to follow their lead on this.

Could we create a complex code for São Toméan Portuguese? There are 2 past FSC song nominations that are in São Toméan Portuguese. One of them uses the IEFT (according to English Wikipedia) and/or ISO 639-1 (according to Portuguese Wikipedia) code, while the other uses the flag of Sao Tome and Principe. I tried to see if there's such a thing as Principean Portuguese, but according to the Portuguese Wikipedia page for São Toméan Portuguese, there doesn't seem to be:

Can we add the Wakhi language? The ISO code is wbl. There's a song on the Used Songs list which uses the code wbl-PK and has the Pakistani flag, but according to the Wikipedia article:

Wakhi is an Indo-European language in the Eastern Iranian branch of the language family spoken today in Wakhan District, Afghanistan and also in Northern Pakistan, China, and Tajikistan.

So I'm not sure which flag we should use.

No, unfortunately not; she's been very busy with exams and stuff I think. So for now, we could just leave it be.

That's what I figured. I'm not sure if we should bother creating separate variants of Wakhi, but at the least, we could probably create a lang code for Wakhi and use the Pakistani flag because that's the song we have. If, in the future, someone nominates a song that's specifically in another variant of Wakhi, then we can figure out what to do.

Yeah I noticed the flag was for New Caledonia. Although I wasn't sure if the UL database pulls the country flag when the 2 digit country code is appended as part of the complex code, or if you specifically used the ownflag tag, though I don't recall seeing ownflag for that song.

Would it matter that much if we're using only Kosovo's flag while a song in Gheg could potentially be from Northern Albanian or Macedonia or Montenegro? Also, if we are going to split up Albanian into dialects, should we add one for Arbëreshë?

Yeah I know both exist in English, and I had a chat with Johanna about this before posting here. Her thinking was that because the Irish themselves call it Irish (unlike Scottish Gaelic, where the Scottish call it Gaelic), the nominated songs should read flag=Irish for the flag mouse-over text and Irish: beside the song title. And if we're doing that, then I figured for uniformity, the Language List should show the same.

Huh, I never bothered to look into what it is, but I think you're right. Do you have any suggestions on what to do though for Levantine Arabic? Maybe we could split all 4 up into their respective variants, complete with correct country flags?
