The Neomedic Language

Postby AvisVolans » 2021-03-27, 10:04

The Neomedic language (native: Njumêdîy) is an indo-european constructed language based on the PIE reconstructions. It has many influences from Greek, Latin and German/English.

For it's my biggest project at the moment, I thought I could share all the features the language has so far.

Stress

For stress there are 4 rules without any exceptions:

1. „y“ can only be stressed, if the word hasn't got any other vowel. In this case the first syllable is stressed.
2. If a syllable has an accent (grave or acute), then this syllable is stressed. The grave accent marks a long and the acute accent a short vowel.
3. If the word contains at least one circumflex accent but not a grave accent or acute accent, then the first syllable with a circumflex accent is stressed.
4. In all other cases the first syllable is stressed.
