Haiku(ish) poem into Ukrainian

Postby Gusztáv » 2015-03-03, 23:22

Hi there,
I was wondering if someone could help translating these four lines into Ukrainian.
I've just started with the alphabet, phonetics, some phrases and vocabulary, so I can't translate this by myself just yet. Help would be greatly appreciated.

"The rose has finally bloomed
Bountiful is the spring garden where we first met
'Till the foliage falls
'Till the snow covers all"

Thanks,
Gusztáv

Hi, Gusztáv, and welcome to the forum!

Here's a possible translation:

"Троянда нарешті розцвіла,
Рясним є весняний сад, де ми вперше зустрілись,
Допоки листя не опаде,
Допоки все не покриє снігом."

Feel free to ask any other questions about Ukrainian in this forum. :)

Good luck!

A rhymed version:

Троянда розквітла нарешті
Буяє весняний сад, де ми зустрілися вперше
Допоки листя не впаде
Допоки сніг не вкриє все

And another one which sounds more Japanese to me:

Троянда нарешті розквітла
Буяє весняний сад, де ми вперше зустрілися
Допоки не впаде листя
Допоки все не вкриє сніг
'A vita è 'n'affacciata 'e fenesta.

Hi! Thank you so much for your help guys and also for the warm welcome.
I will give my best to dissect your translations to see if I can get the sense that you imprinted on them.
I'll most certainly be back with questions about Ukrainian and hope to help others as well.
дякую!

Gusztáv
