Could somebody explain me what's the
difference between ''pes'' and ''Sobaka''?

I know that both means dog

As far as I know, собака is more formal (it is used in legal texts, biology textbooks, etc.). Both words may be used in an informal situation.

I don't think that sobaka is more formal. It's just more common. Also, pes is a male dog.
