سقط جنین clarification

I need a clarification on the meaning of سقط جنین. I know that it means 'abortion' but I know that it can also mean 'miscarriage'. Obviously in English these refer to two very different things. I was wondering how one is supposed to be able to tell what somebody actually means when they use this term? Would really appreciate it if someone could clarify this please. Thanks in advance.

In Persian سقط جنین is similar to abortion.
MISCARRIAGE is an UNINTENTIONAL ACT
and ABORTION is an INTENTIONAL ACT.
If you do سقط جنین on purpose you say ABORTION.
If you do سقط جنین UNINTENTIONALLY you say miscarriage.
Please tell me what do you mean by سقط جنین .(UNINTENTIONAL or INTENTIONAL )
In conclusion, I say سقط جنین in order to describe an INTENTIONAL ACT.
