Good luck! :D This probably is going to be a lonely journey, I don't think it's easy to follow a thread like this unless you know the language, and I doubt many know Zaza. Might be the time to say thank you for your support on my Turkish thread. :)

Thanks! My progress will be like 10 times slower than yours. I just want to learn something and have fun with my Zaza friends by surprising them with random words here and there (I have 2 -- and I'm not even sure how much Zaza they know, I have never heard them speak it); and learn something about the Zaza culture.

Yeah, I noticed it based on two songs I did for Zazaki so far,

Erdoğan Emir - Ez Merdo
-- Key khe laz mo u pî nas nîkerd - When the son does not know his mother and father

Mikail Aslan - Hal Yamano
-- Daye hal yamano - Mother, the situation is bad
-- Bawo hal se beno -- Father, what will become of the situation?

and I wouldn't rush to make such a bold conclusion (I would assume that may be the samples belong to different dialects), but I found it in Todd's "A Grammar of Dimili" as well:

Apparently Kurmanji vocative forms sounded so cool that the Zaza decided to borrow them. :)
And hey, I didn't think anyone would ever try to follow this thread, thanks!

I knew a Zazaki speaker when I was Germany and she translated a sentence for me. And that's the one and only time I ever did anything with the language!

How is your Zazaki learning going? You haven't posted any updates for some time.
