A new book for Kurmanji Kurdish written by Mr. Abdullah Incekan will be published by Reichtert Verlag this September. It uses German as its language of instruction though. The site of Reichert for some reason does not allow me to post a direct link so I have posted an attachment with the cover of the book and the German description:

Reichtert also published the excellent "Rojbas", written by Petra Wurzel and a followup book with more advanced texts. Reviews are availabe on amazon.de; look for rojbas.

Mr. Incekan has published what a Turkish version of "Kurdisch Kompakt" with the Nubihar Publishers in Istanbul. The new book has a suprisingly good site in Turkish and Kurdish, which is accessible here: http://www.kurdihindibim.com/.

A sample dialogue can be accessed http://www.kurdihindibim.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=76&Itemid=50 and it can be heard http://www.kurdihindibim.com/images/stories/buchseiten/22.mp3

There are videos for learning Kurdish on this youtube account.
There are 60 lessons, about 12-15 minutes long, entirely in Kurdish, not sure what dialect it is.

There is also the Kurdish Basic Course (found here). It's a bit dated, but probably one of the best courses on Sorani Kurdish I've seen.

The only word of caution is that the book mainly focuses on spoken Kurdish. It does introduce the Arabic based writing system in the back of the book, but it's out dated when comparied to the current way Kurdish is written. [Though I notice Sorani is starting to be written in the latin script, so maybe it's even less of a problem]

Yes it is!
I'm not sure if the audio is still available, but if you can get it, it's worth the money IMO.
Thackston's Reference grammar goes nicely with it too.

Are you talking about Thackston's?
Well my Kurdish studies have been put on hold, but I have read a bit of it. It's really good for reviewing/expanding grammar and an excellent source of reading material (thanks in part to the glossary in the back). Though I'd recommend using it after the Basic Course.

http://ku.wiktionary.org/wiki/Destp%C3%AAk

http://www.hawarnet.com/

http://www.freewebs.com/mehname/

The complete archives of Hawar, a newspaper which used to be published in Kurdish in the 1930's:

http://www.bijwenist.com/e-kitap/hawarcilt1.pdf
http://www.bijwenist.com/e-kitap/hawarcilt2.pdf

Hawar should be ideal for self-study for those who can understand French since it's written in both Kurmanji (both Latin and Arabic alphabet) and French :)

Here is a good sized beginner's vocabulary for Kurmanji. I've printed it off and am in love

http://kurmanji.free.fr/index_uk.php

You have to click on dictionary in the panel to the left.

EDIT: just noticed this is the same as the one attached to the harvard hosted Thackston grammar. Still, it is good.
