Swedish movies / Svenska filmer

Postby Midnatt » 2012-10-18, 10:42

I'm just curious, if there are any good movies for me to watch to get immersed in the language. I've decided to not stop till I get fluent, so I thought maybe watching a Swedish movie with either Swedish or English subtitles would be great. I saw ARN, but can't think of anything else now.

F.e. I loved "The Art of Negative Thinking" , but it was Norwegian.

P.S. Would be great if it was not porn though :D

Du kan också titta på Milenium-serien. Jag har inte tittat på dom, men den här trilogin är väldigt populär och många människor älskar den här trilogin.

For beginners, watch any Disney film in Swedish. The Lion King and Hercules are two very good films.

För nybörjare, titta på någon disney film på svenska. Lejonkungen och Herkules är två väldigt bra filmer.

Perhaps Så som i himmelen? / As It Is In Heaven. I thought it was really good and the movie is well-known so I think it's not impossible to find a version with English subtitles.

Så som i himmelen, kanske? Jag tyckte den var väldigt bra och filmen är välbekant så jag tycker att det är inte omöjligt att hitta en version med undertexten på engelska.

I agree. This is an amazing movie. Fucking Åmål wasn't bad either.

Jag håller med. Den där är en jättebra film. Fucking Åmål var inte dålig heller.

Ondskan, Tillsammans, Du levande - I enjoyed all of them.
Also Den brysomme mannen, but it's Norwegian.

I thought about suggesting Du levande because I too loved it, but it was not very heavy on dialogue, so figured it wouldn't really serve much purpose.

From the Swedish movies I´ve seen I liked Ondskan the best. I rymden finns inga känslor was pretty good as well, a bit lighter than Swedish movies usually are. I´ve wanted to watch Låt den rätte komma in for a while, but I´ve had trouble finding subtitles for that one. Of course Millenium was a great trilogy as well, but I´m not sure if it is the right thing to use for language learning as I felt like it was pretty dialogue light.
