Tiesą sakant, net nežinau.
Klausti šuns ir klausti šunį gal ir gali būti teisingai naudojama.

Visgi, aš sakyčiau, klausti šuns...

Sveiki :)

Aš manau,kad abu variantai yra teisingi.Tik -klausti šuns- yra dažniau vartojamas.
Kažkodėl man peršasi mintis,jog žodžių junginį-klausti šunį- dažniausiai vartoja žmonės,gyvenantys kaime.Taip pat ankstesnės lietuvių kartos.

(Sorry,I will not translate,because my english is awful.But if you won't understand something,ask :))

Sveikas atvykęs/sveika atvykusi į UniLangą, GRaVeL! :)

Dabar jau du lietuviai sako, kad truputį geriau būtų "klausia šuns", vadinasi, galiu ramiai ištaisyti. ;)
I appreciate corrections to my mistakes in any language.

***

Welcome to Unilang :)

It was a good remark, that "klausti šunį" is more used by the representatives of dialects. It is because this form is more archaic and dialects have preserved more archaic features than the common language.

This thread was on the third page, I think many people forgot about it or didn't even know about it... but this is the place to ask about Lithuanian language. Mantas, maybe you could make it a sticky?

I see this forum is not as active as it used to be, but could anyone comment on my rendition of Little Prince? I don’t know the language at all.

CoBB, that was good enough.
Here is what I could pick up from what you said (although I have read the Little Prince - in French - so maybe it has influenced my comprehension... I doubt that, though):

Mažasis princai, jau ėmiau suprasti koks nelinksmas mažutis tavo gyvenimas. Vienintelė tavo pramoga buvo <...> saulėlydžio švelnumas. <...>Smulkmenas sužinojau ketvirtos dienos rytą, kai man pasakei: „Aš labai mėgstu saulėlydžius“.

What language was that at the end of your post, by the way?

Here’s the text I read out:

Itt a szöveg, amit felolvastam:

http://www3.germanistik.uni-halle.de/pr ... en/033.htm

I got sufficiently close to it then. ;)

Szóval elég közel jártam hozzá. ;)

desper wrote:What language was that at the end of your post, by the way?

Hungarian, my native language. I always try to post bilingually.

Magyar – az anyanyelvem. Mindig próbálok két nyelven írni.

Ok, I'll try being multi-lingual too. :)

I don't know, it's possible, that that woman is not Lithuanian. But I think she's got an accent.

But why would you need that anyway? It doesn't quite seem like you would need to study Hungarian.

I don’t need it, it’s solely for my and others’ enjoyment. :) And by translating everything into your language you also help those who are learning it, because they can see a lot of real-life expressions in context with the proper English equivalent. Look here for more information.

Nézz be ide további információért!

!Pour quelqu'un qui ne comprend pas le lituanien, c'était très bien, CoBB ! Bien que ta manière de prononcer soit assez correcte, il y a quand même des choses à corriger :

- la distinction des voyelles longues et courtes m'a parue minimale, si existante du tout. Prononcées de la même façon dans toutes les positions, elles ont rendu plusieurs passages du texte difficilement intelligibles ;

- quelques fautes importantes d'accentuation (pramóga au lieu de pramogà, ketvìrtos au lieu de ketvirtõs) avertissent immédiatement qu'il s'agit de la parole d'un étranger. Mais je n'ai pas une moindre idée comment tu as réussi à accentuer correctement le reste du texte ;

- tu minimaliai skiri ilgus balsius nuo trumpų, gal net jie nesiskiria išvis. Dėl jų vienodo tarimo visose padėtyse kai kurios teksto vietos tapo sunkiai suprantamos;

- keletas rimtų kirčiavimo klaidų (pramóga vietoje pramogà, ketvìrtos vietoje ketvirtõs) iškart įspėja, kad kalba ne lietuvis. Bet aš niekaip nesuprantu, kaip tau pavyko taisyklingai sukirčiuoti kitus žodžius;

- nesilaikai priebalsių minkštinimo taisyklių – visus priebalsius ištari vienodai.

Trumputė lietuvių kalbos fonologo konsultacija žymiai pagerintų tavo tarimą.

desper, tu me permets une petite correction ?

Elles me paraîent semblables, cettes phrases.

Ah bon.

Maybe that is a good idea, the bi-lingual stuff. But I guess I would be too lazy to rewrite every post...

Ben, エヴァルダス, tu as dit:

Hi to everyone! This is my first message on these forums :D I come from Spain and would love to learn Lithuanian, as I love that country!

I have tried to learn it for some months, but it's really difficult to find good online ressources or books here in Spain, so I have made very little progress. I can only write very simple sentences and mostly with a dictionary. :(

So I would really appreciate your corrections!

Greets :)

Well you can say and esam and esame. But why to say longer, when you can say shorter :D It is interesting that where I live people even shorter adjectives and nouns which end -as (like daiktas(thing)-daikts, baltas(white)-balts) But I do not recomend to do this as it sounds very countrified :?

It sounds like Latvian - mēs esam, balts. Latvian must sound like a country dialect to Lithuanians.
