Translation of five words

Postby bjornjansson » 2011-08-10, 10:17

Hello

I would like some help with translating following five words into Hungarian:

Run! (Szaladja!)
Counter! (Számlálókja!)
Shoot! (Lője!)
Pass! (Dobtaja!)
Good! (Jó!)

Within parentheses are the words that I've managed to find, but they can be very wrong. All verbs are supposed to be imperative form, third person singular, female gender.

Many thanks for any assistance.

Björn

Hi!

Hungarian is a language that lacks grammatical gender. So it does not affect how the verbs are formed.
Run! - Szaladjon! (you can use synonyms like: Fusson!/Rohanjon!
Counter - you mean count?= räkna then it is - Számoljon!
Shoot -skjuta- Lőjön!
Pass! - Passzoljon! (for example in football)-sv. passa!
What you wrote in Hungarian Dobjon! means kasta! in Swedish.
Good - bra - Jó (that's correct)
I tried to write the words in Swedish, as well but my skills are rather rusty. So chances are I might got them wrong in the imperative.
Hope I could help you.

Many thanks.

No, I mean "counter", "breakaway". In Swedish "kontring". In sports, if one team has the ball and looses it, the other team can "counter" since the ball loosing team most likely is in disorder.

Edit: and your knowledge of Swedish imperative is impeccable.

Then, it's called kontra/kontraakció (noun), therefore the verb kontrázni -> Kontrázzon! (a team or a player from the team). This word also means 'to back pedal'.
As for the word 'kontring' - 'ellentámadás' (noun)
