I like the article about the Central Europe. It tells everything that I would want to say.

This east-west thing is more about the state of development, not geography...

It's probably more a reminiscence of the cold war times, when there was West vs East...
We consider Eastern Europe anything Eastern than Italy-Austria-Germany, even if geographically Central would be more correct... But it's mainly a political definition, as my Finnish friend says, Finland is more in the East than Czech Republic, yet Czech Republic is called Eastern Europe...

Italians better know about Hungary. Like the hun Attila the pope payed taxes and tribute to not to destroy Rome. Should have seen that moment when the capital of the Roman empire, the Eternal City was about to fall. That's part of their history.

Az volt a szép pillanat, amikor Róma hadisarcot fizetett, hogy mentse magát. Az olaszok jobb ha tudnak erről, hogy történelmi távlatban lássák a dolgokat.

Attila is Hun. Not Magyar. Though some people say they are close relatives... (I mean Huns and Magyars)

Attila hun. Nem magyar. Bár vannak, akik azt mondják, hogy a két nép közeli rokon.
