I agree with Voron. In the first part of the sentence, a "slight" difference is being mentioned, but in the second part, we see the word "demise" which is rather strong. It doesn't make a sense to me. Maybe, my English is not sufficient to see the real context :(

Here is my attempt of translation:

Günümüzden 50 yıl sonra, insanların bizden biraz farklı konuşabilecek olması bizim bildiğimiz medeniyetin ortadan kalkacağının bir habercisi olarak kabul edilir.

I'm sorry if that phrase was somewhat unclear out of the context. It's from a linguistic book by John McWhorter, whose style is a little bit ironical. The intended meaning was, "Now we speak not the same English as 50 years ago, and so some people think the language will degrade over time and become creolized".

Well, taking this internet age into consideration, I think every language has the potential of changing faster than before, but I doubt if it can be called a creolization.

Here is another sentence to be translated:

I am not able to go to the beach with you. Nevertheless, thanks for asking me.

durdurmam*

It will sound much better if you say: Bu, sigarayı bırakmamın öyküsü.

Nadi seems to have forgotten to give a new sentence, so I'll do it:

Why do we fasten the seatbelts when in a plane?

Here's the slightly corrected version. It doesn't sound as fancy in Turkish as it is in English, though.

voron wrote:I bet on Beşiktaş's victory and I won 1000 liras.

Beşiktaş'ın galibiyetine oynadım ve 1000 lira kazandım.
