Nosce te ipsum...

Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you could help me translate the second part of the famous nosce te ipsum phrase. As you may or may not know, it was written at the entrance of the Delphi temple and the whole phrase was:

Know thyself and you shall know the gods.

The one in italic is what I am looking for.

All I want is a latin translation of "... and you shall know the gods".

I'll strike a deal with you, if you can come up with a reputable source that gives "Know thyself and you shall know the gods" as one of the two aphorisms on the pronaos, I will translate it into Latin for you.

I mean, I'm looking at Pausanias 10.24.1 right now, and it clearly says οὗτοι οὖν οἱ ἄνδρες ἀφικόμενοι ἐς Δελφοὺς ἀνέθεσαν τῷ Ἀπόλλωνι τὰ ᾀδόμενα Γνῶθι σαυτὸν καὶ Μηδὲν ἄγαν.

Non raro et haec leguntur verba:

Nosce te ipsum et universum deosque nosces.

Γνῶθι σεαυτὸν (καὶ γνωρίσεις τὸν κόσμον καὶ τοὺς θεούς).

The only original words are Γνῶθι σεαυτὸν.

Those included in brackets seem to be added afterwards by an anonymous.
