At first I was focused mainly on grammar. Afterwards I turned myself to other things like building up a better vocabulary and memorizing all the useful phrases and idioms I could find. I know lots of those. :D

One thing I would add is using the internet to listen to spoken Norwegian as much as possible. A lot of times I have NRK or other Norwegian radio stations on in the background while I am working at my desk so that I am listening to spoken Norwegian on a regular basis.

I got interested in Norwegian when I was posted for a job in Oslo.
I started learning it slowly by reading some books teaching Norwegian.
I was lucky to attend around 120 hours of Norwegian language course arranged by the Oslo kommune.
I've taken the Norsk Prøve 2 exam last month. Waiting for the results.

I started to learn Norwegian after listening to the anthem "Ja, vi elsker dette landet". I found that the language is beautiful, and start to gain some vocabs and learn some grammar.

But somehow, I encounter some problems, as I could not find any partner here in my country to practice Norwegian, as hard as for me to find any Norwegian books. :(

I actually know a Malaysian guy who moved here to study at the University of Oslo. He now speaks Norwegian pretty much fluently and he's been here almost two years :) Just ask us if you need any help, and some of the learners in here might know a thing or two about good books

I've started learning Norwegian last year during my seasonal job.
Just out of curiosity, did you have a summer job in Norway? I would love to spend most of my summers in Norway and am wondering how difficult it might be to get a summer work permit?

Sorry Raufoss...I haven't seen your post before :(
Yes, I did.
My sister worked before me in fruit packaging and she helped me to get there :D I had a chance to get back there in this season but I have work here in Poland. My friend went to Norway in June this year and he found a job by himself. He delivers pizza but he is searching for something else, especially that he learned Norwegian in Poland.
Honestly speaking, I miss Norway very much! I hope that one day I'll back to Norge! :D

I'm learning Norwegian with tutors on https://preply.com/en/skype/norwegian-tutors It’s a good source and I started to practice speaking. But even now I'm looking for new opportunities to try something new in language learning. If you know some great ways you tried yourself, let me know, please.I'll be glad.

If you haven't tried it yet, I can recommend Duolingo for when you're not studying with tutors.
