Help with translating/understanding lines in the TV series "W Rytmie Serca"

Postby stordragon » 2018-04-08, 13:52

https://www.ipla.tv/wideo/serial/W-rytm ... e9d6ea201b

28:13 (Adam Żmuda) Nie wiadomo, gdzie są zwłoki mojego ojca; nie wiadomo w ogóle, czy został pochowany.
28:16 (Adam Żmuda) Powiedz mi, dlaczego moje życie musi cały czas po prostu iść do góry?

What does "życie idzie do góry" mean?? Is this a phrasal verb?? Could you help me understand this? Is it something like "life is as hard as going uphills"??

I cannot find such phrasal verbs at https://sjp.pwn.pl .. Is there any online dictionary you could recommend which provides explanation for such phrasal verbs??

Many Thanks!

I don't know what to say, it sounds unnatural to me. I would say "dlaczego zawsze w życiu mam pod górkę?" (Why is it always uphill in my life?)

Thanks pittmirg! So could you confirm my transcription above is correct? He did say "iść do góry" right? (Not sure if that bit could be misinterpreted as "my life is going upwards all the time" :P) Thanks!

It seemed right to me, however it's not something I would say. "Mieć pod górkę" means to face difficulties.
