@Narbleh: Dankon por la helpo. Mi komprenas (mi pensas) la ŝanĝojn, sed "timema".
Ĉar "boneco" tradukas en angla "goodness", mi pensis "timeco" tradukis en angla "afraid-ness".
Ĉu "timema" estas "tendancy to be afraid"? Laŭ mi, Daniel jam havas "afraid-ness".

(I hope I was able to express that clearly enough given my rather limited Esperanto skills. If not,
I'll put it in English - I'm unclear on the distinction between "eco" and "ema" in this case - To me,
Daniela already has the abstract quality of fear, hence "timeco", rather than the tendancy towards
fear, ie. timema. Could you clarify that change for me?)

bona: good (adjective)
bono: good (noun)
boneco: goodness, abundance or stress on the quality that is good

timo: fear
tima: fearful
timema: (adj) timid, tending to fear or shy away, disposition towards such behavior
timeco: (n) the abundance or abstract quality of being fearful or of fear, "frighteningness", fearfulness

The reason I corrected you is because "esti", a copula like "be" in English, is used as an equals sign here, so what you said meant Daniela is this abstract quality of fear/fearing, which though she may have, doesn't make sense when used as an equals sign with Daniela. She's not a quality, she's a person who has this quality. You can't use -eca here because I at least can't wrap my mind around what a person who's "fearfulness-like" means. So "timema" for me is the best choice.

The usual use of -eca is detailed on this page. Here's a quote:

Tiaj formoj havas normale la signifon “simila, simile, samaspekta kiel, samamaniere kiel”:

What did you mean to say here? "sin" is used to refer back to a third-person subject, in this case "stelo" and "raketo". I think you forgot to conjugate the verb, so doing that, this means something like "However, star and rocket bother themselves."

This means she herself was crunchy, not that she made crunchy things, if that's what you meant.

So, basically the issue is that my usage essentially said -> she IS the quality of afraid-ness <-
(which is, of course, nonsensical), rather than -> she has/exhibits the quality of afraid-ness <-
(which was what I intended to mean). Makes sense now. Thanks.

The original intent was: "Nevertheless, the star and rocket worried her". Of course, you wouldn't
know that, because there is no "she" subject in there... And, to top off the epic fail,
I see now it's also 6 words instead of 5... Egads! This whole "learn a new language" thing is tough!!!

If so, let's go with that and pretend I'm only math-challenged (unu, du, tri, kvar, ses) .

I'm not sure ĉagreni is the verb you're looking for (it sounds more like "grieve" or "annoy" to me). Maybe "Stelo kaj raketo maltrankviligis/zorgigis Daniela(n)" (@Narbleh: not sure about zorgi here?).

I think what you were aiming for with the original "sin" was "ŝin". You can write "ŝin" instead of "Danielan", because the "ŝi" in the story is clearly Daniela. (It is "sin" if it means "herself", not "her".)
