Re: Who speaks Esperanto with the right accent?

I really like a slight slavic accent in Esperanto. At the meeting I went to last summer there were quite a few Slovaks. Once, a Slovak girl said: "tʃu ni ɫudu iɔn?" (Shall we play something?, sorry for bad IPA) and me and another linguist (from the US) were like "Awwwwww, word-initial /ɫ/ that's so cool!" She didn't understand what we were so happy about...

Inventions are good. Esperanto is to a natural language what a car is to a horse.

Esperanto is to a natural language what a ichthyocentaur to horse.
Interlingua is like a mule.
Lojban is like a robot horse.

Why do so many despisers of Esperanto hang around in the Esperanto subforum?

Personally, I think ichthyocentaurs are way cooler than horses. And more practical as well, assuming they can swim as well as walk. :D

it's scary the amount of animosity Eo invites. But when you think about it, it's no better or worse than any natlang

I think for the purpose of a world language, the answer is yes to that. Now one a personal note; I need a bubble pipe and an old fashioned jacket, and a top hat, & then i’d actually look good typing this.

Robot Horse Never tires, robot horse also works in where their’s no atmosphere.
Mules go places horses don't like to go.

I read somewhere it is based on Slavic pronunciation.
