No mistakes but I just have another alternative word to suggest you in place of cambiare to make it sound more native-like:

Il sole sarà tramutato in tenebre e la luna in sangue, prima che venga il grande e terribile giorno del SIGNORE

Tramutare is more formal and solemn hence it's perfect for this context.

I just copied the translation from somewhere online, because I had no idea how to sound biblical in Italian, so the only mistakes I could've made would've been in copying :D.

Però la serie peggiorava sempre di più con ogni libro nuovo.
