Four pages about Estonian music and not a word about Zetod or Curly Strings? I'm devastated

Zetod - Kergotamine
Zetod - Õs viä'
(they're not actually singing in Estonian, but I think it counts)

Curly Strings - Kauges külas
Curly Strings - Seitse pruuti

And another band: Jäääär
Jäääär - Viimane tramm

And one of my favourite estonian songs:
Mari Pokinen - No näed

And since I saw that someone recommended Tulli Lum, who are really not estonian, I'll take the chance to recommend a vepsian song I really like, by a band from Russian Karelia:
Anna tulla - Ken om värnik?

Most of the band members should be actually Estonians, except the vocalist who is native Livonian speaker, of course.

This is really awesome.
Sounds like Finnish, spoken by a Latvian.

Really? I thought they were Latvians. But you might be right, I don't actually know.

I know some Latvians who speak really good Finnish, don't generalise :D
It's pretty close to Finnish, that's true. Especially in the vocabulary. But some things remind me of Russian, like the word 'ken' being pronounced as 'kjen'. But don't hit me, I don't speak any Russian. And then there's the 3rd person ending -b like in Estonian, which Finnish doesn't have. It's a funny mix.

Curly Strings' Kauges külas ('In a faraway village') just got voted Estonia's song of the year 2014 :) Well deserved in my opinion. I saw them live before Christmas and they were great :)

Heard a charming little Estonian lullaby by Arvo Pärt a moment ago. It’s called Kuus kuus kallike.

I think the title means “Hush Hush Darling” – though when I typed it into Google Translate it came out as “Six month sweetheart”. :P

Indeed, for some reason Google Translate translates "kuus kuus" as "six months", although it should be "six six". :hmm:

But the word in the song is "kuss", with heavily palatalized "s". Although, because of the way it is sung, it does sound very similar to "kuus".
