She does have an accent, even when she's speaking SMG though.

Ούτε γω ήξερα την λέξη, αν και μου έβγαζε κάτι σε ύφασμα. Ρώτησα μια θεία μου και μου είπε ότι πρόκειται για όντως ένα είδος υφάσματος με το οποίο σκεπάζεις σφιχτά τα βρέφη (νομίζω φασκιά το λέτε στην Ελλάδα). Και μου φαίνεται λογικό, αφού έχουμε και την λέξη τουλουππίζω, δένω κάτι με ύφασμα.

you should decide whether the subject of your book will be the cypriot grammar as independent or the relation between cypriot and standard greek.

Is final [s] silent in Cypriot Greek? They always pronounce it as [kipro].

It is in my town's speech (but not my idiolect, my family is not originally from here so we speak differently). But you might as well hearing the accusative for of η Κύπρος, which is την Κύπρο(ν).

It should. I sure know it would be a bit redundant to me if the grammar didn't assume previous knowledge of regular Demotic. Design it more as a grammatical manual than a textbook, and put special emphasis on highlighting words and vocabules which are etymoligically different from their counterparts in Demotic.

I'm going through a similar process in designing a grammar for my Abruzzese Neapolitan dialect (in English as well). I expect its audience to know Italian or at least some other related Romance language to some extent prior to reading it, otherwise, the audience might feel lost or not comprehend the content well enough.

I don't aim to create a rudimentary textbook, as all devoted Modern Greek learners know that most textbooks for Greek are made towards tourist demographics, but something professors and students of linguistics or language buffs like ourselves would take interest in.

να μου δώσει (SMG), να μου δώκει (CyG) ;)

There was a phonetician guy on FB who scientifically proven that is a Cypriot singing this, but that due to the speed and the melody, they do many mistakes (wrong animal sounds, shifting back to SMG and stuff), so don't use it as teaching material :P

-I don't think there are any mistakes. I know that today CyG has been enriched with many SMG elements especially in major cities like Lefkosia, Lemesos.

Not surprising me ;)

-I don't think there are any mistakes. I know that today CyG has been enriched with many SMG elements especially in major cities like Lefkosia, Lemesos.

The latter part is true. And possibly there are people who say τράκτορ instead of τράχτον, but γλυκόν is always a noun, the adjective is γλυτζςίν... (*γλυκόν πουλλούιν = a traditional sweet made of birds . γλυτζςιν πουλλούιν = hm... a bird that tastes sweet... This is not an expression native to Cypriot Greek and we can only understand it because we know that γλυκός/η/ο means 'adorable' in SMG)
When this expression becomes more widely used in CyG, the asterisk will go ;)

Cypriot Greek has been steadily increasing its environments of use :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YMdfQD2Eh8
Here's a recent radio show on Middle Eastern and Cypriot political affairs, where the guest, a university professor talks in a cultivated CyG variety, and the host follows his lead, using a lot of dialectal features in his Cypriot Standard Greek.

So much for Cypriot Greek being under any threat of displacement
