I feel like you're deliberately trying to hose the next player with your selections. Are you just typing whatever pops into your head, like with the word association game?

You give me far too much credit, if you think I'm trying to hose anyone. :)

Basically. Though there probably should be a workaround for this kinda of problem. Maybe go with the same first character? I realised after the fact that 倪 is the diminuative suffix.

Or strip off a radical, i.e. 倪 > 兒?

I think the meaning should be more to "to waste time"?

In English, the order is usually "time and space", just like in Chinese.

空窗期 window of time [e.g. between relationships]

Shouldn't the English expression be "windows period"?
In Taiwan it's used for relationships, but it's also the medical term.

Yes, it also means that.

It's just a gloss; it's not meant to be a comprehensive definition. I list whatever meaning(s) I consider most salient or useful. (I talk about being between relationships often; I don't remember ever needing the medical term "window period" in English.) If people want the full range of meanings of a word, they should look it up.

多谢。I guess I misunderstood the dictionary entry where "to take time" was suggested as an option, but perhaps only in the context of "to take more time than desirable" (i.e. closer to "waste time").

That's exactly the opposite for me. The medical term is not only the primary definition of the word from which the slang meaning originated, but is understood in the whole Chinese-speaking world, which is not the case of your definition.
You never hear of "window period" when talking about diseases such as AIDS?
