Ok, that pisses me off! I just went to post something, and I got booted out and had to log back in. In the process I lost my post!
Anyway, back to my thought:
I was thinking of things, and how it can be a long slog to get through a textbook. I like to test out an idea and see how it goes. I thought to start it here because you guys are the ones in most of my other study groups.
If we like it, chances are it'll roll out to other study groups I'm a part of.
How do you guys feel about every so often taking a week to work on some sort of optional group exercise. [Optional as in you truly don't have to do it, and can do whatever you want during this week; including, but not limited to, taking a break.] I think this will hopefully inject some fun into the study, and give us a chance to stretch and reduce the chance of burning out. The object for the exercise is, for example, to find something at the current group level (or easier) to translate. This is just an example, so we are not limited to just translation work. It's not meant to necessarily be a challenge. If we picked a story to translate, it would be something like
the second story I posted in my personal thread.
What do you guys think about this idea? And if you like it, how often/when would you like to see it?
And more importantly, did that make sense?
