Why there is no thread on it yet?
There are some resources on it.
Why not start something on Classical Japanese learning?

食べざる魚 - fish, that is not eaten.

魚は食べず fish does not eat.
These are the negative verb forms, I don't know much except for it.

I just bought an excellent textbook to explore classical Japanese. It's called 「新編日本古典文法」and it's published by 大連理工大学出版社 (yes, it's Chinese but the book is entirely in Japanese and has been reviewed by Japanese professors).

I don't have much time this semester because I am spending most of my time on Chinese at the moment, but I planned to start studying seriously some classical Japanese (and maybe Chinese) from next semester. I will eventually use this thread at that time.

So it's good that I started this topic!

Hmm, I forgot to mention that I know something about adjectives.

~い⇛き/し

青き空 attributive form

空は青し statement form

青かれ! imperative (be green!)

早かれ遅かれ - sooner or later, it uses imperative, and is used as a set expression.

As I said, it's not supposed to be real Classical Japenese, the sentences are just used to show how the grammar is used, I don't know about vocab, etc.

Also, what is interesting some Japanese ditionaries have some strange spelling adhered to them.
i think it's something like Classical Japanese pronuntiation.

I've been making Classical Japanese lessons on my site: www.imabijapaneselearningcenter.com.
They are in the IMABI IV section. It's going to be where I dump my research for Classical Japanese at, and it's really helped me get a better feel on the classical language.
