私は日本語で書いて複雑な従属節と大きな問題があります。たとえば:

Everyone left the town where I had spent my childhood, during which I saw a lot of good and evil, and which is not far from the biggest forrest in the country.

This is the man about whom the other guy who had stolen a watch from me when I was walking home talked to you.

この文は英語で必ずしも正しくないです。でも、いくつかの文に切らないで日本で言うことができますか。

短い文の方が日本語らしいと気がします。複雑な文の構成は日本語にあまり当てはまりません。日仏翻訳者にそう言われました。

I think sentences tend to be shorter in Japanese in general. Complicated structures don't seem to suit the language. That's what a French-Japanese professional translator told me (and he's also a Japanese person).
