Elaine - Čeština

Postby Multiturquoise » 2013-11-18, 18:58

Hello!

I'm beginning to study Czech. I'll ask my questions about Czech in this thread.

Začínám studovat češtinu. Zeptám se své otázky o češtině v tomto tématu.

Unless you're a native speaker, please don't correct me.

Pokud nejste rodilý mluvčí, prosím mě neopravte.

Please give me some homework to improve my Czech.

Prosím mi dejte některé úkoly pro zlepšení mé češtiny.

Hi Eftychia,
i don't want to confuse you now when i will correct Ashrak's corrections. Maybe you know it already (or you will find out it later) but in our language there are mostly more opinions how to say something. Ashrak's corrections are grammatically right (and you can use them). But in our language is very important syntax and stylistics and here i can see mistakes in Ashrak's corrections

So let me correct it:

"... Položím své otázky o češtině v tomto tématu .."
better is: V tomto témato budu pokládat své otázky o češtině
I assume that you want to ask questions more than once so here is better to use form "budu pokládat". If you want to do it only once you will use položím.

"... Pokud nejste rodilý mluvčí, neopravujte mě prosím ...."
Pokud nejste rodilý mluvčí, prosím neopravujte mě

"... Prosím dejte mi nějaké úkoly na zlepšení mé češtiny ..."
Prosím, dejte mi nějaké úkoly, abych se mohl (v češtině) zlepšovat.
(Please give me some homework, so i could improve myself(in czech))

i'm not language teacher so i can't give you homework either. Nor when i don't know what did you learn already. But as Ashrak said feel free to ask questions.

Ashrak: Doufám, že se nezlobíš, že jsem ti opravila tvoje opravy, ale když jsem to četla, praštilo mě to do očí.

I have got a question:
Does the accusative object become a genitive object when the sentence is negative, like Polish and Russian does?

Nepiji čaj - Nepiji čaje

Děkuji!

Čaj is a bad example, because it doesn't have a plural (I mean it does when you're talking about types of tea, but just like milk or beer you have to quantify the mugs, cups, bottles and whatnot)

Anyway.

Jím jablko. Nejím jablko. ( no change in cases)

When you see Nejím jablka. It's plural, not genitive.

Bez jablka. (Gen. Without an apple)

P.s. Piji is too formal. Even though it's correct, piju is what you'll hear 99% of the time.
