I recently bought two books on Czech, Colloquial Czech by James Naughton of Teddy Hall, Oxford University, and Beginner's Czech from Iva Cerna and Jolana Machalek of Eurolingua.
Naughton's book sets up the declension order in the following way:
The Cerna/Machalek Guide uses numbers for declensions in the following order (in charts they don't give abbreviations)
Which way is correct? Which do Czechs learn? As the Cerna book never uses the abbreviations, learning declensions another way could make the book useless. I prefer the Naughton book, but is it correct? Are Locative and Prepositional the same thing?
Thanks a lot,
