да это я еще давно, кажись, до Нового Года еще на каком то сайте нарыл, все забывал запостить. Там еще брошюра о "Замечательном отдыхе в Турции" была, но только там Турция везде почему-то как Индюк фигурировала Щя не могу найти картинку- у меня на компе бардак.

Erm I still don’t really get where you’re going to be working after you graduate, I mean in school or in hospital, or this is going to be sort of childern’s phsycology practice in health centers or run privately. Kind of complicated.

I could work in any of those places and in many more.

But I still can’t figure out why on earth you had to go to Ukraine n study Ukrainian if your future carreer doesn’t really have anything to do with languages. You dutch ppl are so unpractical..

I didn't have to go there, I just did it because I liked it and I would get credits for it that count for my study here. So I wouldn't get a delay or so. I could've stayed here and take some "pedagogiek"-related courses, but I've been doing that all the time already, so I thought languages would be nice for a change.

No, ukrainian г sounds like our h. χ sounds more like russian х, only a little bit further to the back of your mouth.

Обкатала нормально - за полтора месяца уже 1200 намотала Гараж по московским меркам я бы сказала, что близко. Найти его можно если захотеть, мне так кажется, что половина народу свои тачки ставит под окнами, или на открытых стоянках, но никак не в гаражах. Раньше у всех были ракушки, а потом их просто начали сносить, как у нас обычно бывает без спросу, без суда и следствия, нормальных гаражей не так уж и много, большие проблемы с парковкой. в центре ввели паркоматы - хрень такая - пихаешь в нее денюжку и можешь ставить машину, а рядом дядьки злые ходят и наблюдают... Да и без этих ---матов за два часа 400 руб. сдирают, т.е. все парковки в центре под чьими-то крышами, я в центре только катаюсь поэтому...Даже страшно машину оставить, на штраф стоянку мигом отгонят

How come we never heard about it? Guess you could write a story about your experience in Ukraine and post it on one of the forums. You could write it in Russian or Ukrainian if you want to practice them or just in English. Ive been to Ukraine many times and I don’t think it differs a lot from Russia (well at least I never felt myself being in a foreign country when I was there), that’s why that would be interesting to know things that were totally weird for you, like ppl’s behavior, weird habits traditions, well everything. Well writing an article like that will take quite a time, but we’re not in haste. So what do you think?

Ага, в километрах пятидесяти от границы Владимирской области наверное .

У нас нормальные гаражи в основном на окраинах города, ракушки тоже сносят, хотя в некоторых местах их можно еще встретить, под окнами кажись самый распространенный вариант. Стоянки вообще что-то несуразное, деньги платить надо, но ответственности за угон они как правило не несут, бред… Мне повезло, у меня частный дом и гараж во дворе, не нужно ни на какую окраину ехать, на работе тоже стоянка нормальная, так как у нас население с нелегалами составляет около полтора миллиона особых проблем с местом на дорогах пока не наблюдается, пробки конечно встречаются каждый день, но самая большая в которой мне довелось стоять – 20 минут.

За город не пыталась выезжать? Как там кст за МСК дороги? Мляяяя у нас ужасть, хоть вертолет покупай.

Well, it's like you called me Вы, but in Dutch you would use that less often than in Russian and many people feel old when they are called "u".

The first recording is fast and of bad quality, but the second is better and slower. I don't think I'd manage to do it still slower. Just listen to it a couple more times, and you'll get used to the speed.

Oh, ik snap het now. I guess I'd also feel offended if I was called “Вы”. That reminded me about Indians. We had sort of an Indian delegation at work and they are a real polite bunch, them Indians. Polite is a wrong word actually. They are sooooo polite that it starts to annoy you as soon as you start talking to them. Like they kept calling me “Sir”, “yes, sir,” “no, sir”, “may I ask you sir” , geez, that was annoying, I told them to stop, but they never did.

I speak german a little, that’s why I could get general idea like things about your Odessa trip, glorious plazkart journey , problems with the shower and good thing that you were staying in that apartment only two days. It's more the grammar and the words that are like German, but not so much the pronunciation.
And for ui, well, it's a diphtongue and the sound you start with is something like a in (British) English 'man' (although I'm not sure it's exactly that sound) and the sound you end with is like the ü in German.

Well the problem is I could never pronounce that german ü right. Oh and I could never pronounce british ae either. That being said, I stand no chance of learning how to pronounce that ui sound. Well I tried, but I can’t pronounce it like a diphthong, I can’t help inserting the glottal stop between those sounds.

в центре я катаюсь, но стараюсь не парковаться, т.к. всегда выскакивает чел откуда ни возьмись и требует за час стоянки 200 руб. минимум. Поэтому я так сказать в центр особо не суюсь, больше по окраинам, по магазинам большим.
За город я выезжаю регулярно - до гаража и обратно
Трассы у нас кстати очень разные. По Рублевке ехать одно удовольствие - пробок нет, асфальт чудо, новенький такой, блестит, смотришь по сторонам, прям как будто по французской провинции едешь...
Новая Рига - тоже трасса хорошая, ей пророчат стать новой Рублевкой, может и переименуют
Все остальное - не взглянешь без слез. Под тяжестью фур асфальт деформируется, и получаются такие "волны", ехать мягко скажем, неудобно. Вечные выбоины, т.е. вроде дорогу чинят, но дочинить постоянно забывают и эти ямы приходится объезжать, а когда из заделывают, то все равно будешь объезжать, вместо ям появляются колдобины
Если честно, то я даже готова платить, только дайте хорошую дорогу!

To pronounce that ü, just say и and then round your lips like when you say (Russian) у (don't move anything else, only your lips). That should be ü.
Instead of æ you could say Dutch/German long a or a schwa (or something in between), that will do too.
The only thing you have to do to get from ü to æ/long a/schwa, is rounding your lips and closing your jaws a bit more, and don't stop making a sound.

Мдя, значит у вас там такой же головняк. Эт радует
Друган в Белоруссию года два назад на машине мотался, говорит там дороги платные, качество дорог на порядок выше, но мусоров на каждом километре понатыкано, так что особо не погоняешь, или может это они только к российским номерам неравнодушны были – страховки там всякие, он так и не понял что от него хотели.

Если честно, то я даже готова платить, только дайте хорошую дорогу!

Да только должен быть коэффициент, например если “ехаешь па Маскве” то дорожная пошлина должна быть в каком-то соотношении привязана к стоимости квадратного метра жилья в белокаменной. А вообще вашей кожаной кепке давно пора тарифы и на пешие прогулки установить, неча даром асфальт вытаптывать.

Кстати, чё эт у вас там за повелительное наклонение такое «Ехай!»? Че это выражение у вас действительно можно часто услышать? Колхозники.

Yeah, easier said than done.
Done some grammar basics like personal pronouns and verb conjugation thingies and I’d been doing alright until I realized that despite the fact that I understand how grammar works I still can’t read anything at all. downloaded some mp3’s and that was the moment of frustration – I can’t make out about 50 percent of the sounds, much less imitate them. You guys are even worse than Danes. Guess I gotta download acouple of Dutch podcasts or audiobooks and listen to them non-stop for acouple of months before I finally start getting used to your sounds. Good thing though is that I haven’t started thinking of giving up yet.

Yeah but that’s still no reason why I should stop hating on them.

you Russians eat way too much raw onions as for my taste. And eating salo with it, yuk... use some mustard instead.

We actually eat differently cooked food depending on what a person prefers. Some Russians prefer fried food, it can be more or less fried also depending on the taste. Other Russians may prefer stewed or steam cooked food to fried one. Otherwise somebody may like boiled! Everything depends on the taste. So you can't generalized the taste of Russian people in food. Simply not possible coz we are all different. Look , some Russian even prefer international cuisines like Italian, German, Hungarian, Czeque, Japanese, CHinese etc to RUssian one while others keep loving only Russian food.

By the way, once you are interested in such matters, here is a nice article about Russian food.
